Top 10 CD's 2009
10. To be honest, I have yet had the chance to listen to the whole Album, but for what I've heard it is really good!
9. Oh! Muse, Muse, Muse, I was really looking forward to your album to come out. Once I bought it, and listened to it, it took me a while to decide weather or not I liked it. Till this day I am not quite sure if I understand your concept of this album, but you made my number nine spot!
Many of the songs are really good but some other ones last way too long.
8. Arctic Monkeys, the only reason why I picked up your album is because one of my co-workers said you were their favorite band. I took a listen and I absolutely loved it. Although I did love it, some of the songs start sounding the same after a while.
7. OMG its the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! I've been a fan since my sister got me into them in 2006. This CD is full of energy and it was totally cool being able to go see them in a show! LOVE IT! =)
6. Yes this CD is my number 6, why? because I am a bandwagon U2 fan. Even though my father played U2 for us (my sister and I) since i was in my mommas belly, I did not listen to this specific CD until my dad bought us tickets to go see them. My friend gave me a live version of the 360 tour and I ended up loving so many of the new songs! It is an amazing CD, very danceable.
5. Venus Infers! Well, to be honest, this CD came out in November 2008 but, I did not discover it until this year. I spent the whole year obsessing over this band that happens to be from the O.C! Anyway check out this CD it will not disappoint.
4. I hate that I have to put Green Day on the #4 position because this album has become one of my favorite GD albums. I was lucky enough to see Green Day 3 times this year, every single one of those times it was memorable! Green Day puts on an amazing show and besides that this album proves that they still have what it takes to rock out!
3. Okay, before you judge me, I have many reasons why this CD made my top 3. Can I explain those reasons? I don't think so.All I know is that it has pretty awesome lyrics and instruments. It is very weird that Scarjo made my top 3, but she did!
2. Miss Lily Allen! What can I say? I am IN LOVE with her CD, from beginning to end she offers great lyrics, beats, and originality. I relate to many of her songs which range from drug use, to being lonely, envying a sibling and even to not knowing in what kind of relationship you are in. Absolutely love it!
1. Yes! My number one CD is a soundtrack, is that cheating? I hope not because from beginning to end, this CD offers a great range of moods. From the first piano string in "Us"- Regina Specktor, to the last She & Him version of "Please, please, please let me get what I want" it leaves you wanting more! This album completely deserves my number one spot, I played this CD over 100 times in the first week!
Thank you for reading my top CD list! Wishing you a happy 2010 music year!
=)

Julian Casablancas Song Of The Day
So Julian Casablancas, lead singer for the strokes, is coming out with a solo album.
YAY!
I cannot say how excited I am about this news. The strokes have not brought out an album in a few years and this is as close as I am going to get to seeing him in a show any time soon.
Yes, yes, I do have a small little crush on Mr. Casablancas himself, but I am mostly in love with his voice.
So enjoy this first single off his first solo album.

Lyrics
Ooh-oo child, things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child, things'll get brighter
Ooh-oo child, things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter
Some day, yeah
We'll put it together and we'll get it all done
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day, yeah
We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter
Ooh-oo child, things are gonna be easier
Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter
Ooh-oo child, things are gonna be easier
Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter
Some day, yeah
We'll put it together and we'll get it all done

Right now
You just wait and see how things are gonna be
Right now...

Green Day Song of the Day...
Okay, okay i know. Its very different from what I've been posting, but, i do love green day. The other day i was revisiting 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and i came upon this song that has amazing lyrics.
It speaks about a breakup, i'm guessing, and how he cant keep his mind off this girl..
Billie truly has a great mind for lyrics and it feels great being able to appreciate it.
So Enjoy!
Paper Lantern Lyrics
Now I rest my head from
Such an endless dreary time
A time of hopes and happiness
That had you on my mind
Those days are gone and now it seems
As if I'll get some rest
But now and then I'll see you again
And it puts my heart to the test
So when are all my troubles going to end?
I'm understanding now that
We are only friends
To this day I'm asking why
I still think about you
As the days go on I wonder
(Will this ever end?)
I find it hard to keep control
When you're with your boyrfriend
I do not mind if all I am is
Just a friend to you
But all I want to know right now
Is if you think about me too... ?
So when are all my troubles going to end?
I'm understanding now that
We are only friends
To this day I'm asking why
I still think about you
So when are all my troubles going to end?
I'm understanding now that

Song of The Day
So I am fortunate enough to be able to go see U2 October 25th! I am psyched and excited to see one of the bands that describe my childhood. I remember my dad putting on the vhs of U2 videos in the weekend mornings and we would sing along and be fascinated with what the band "U2" was.
This song seriously makes me want to skip down streets and live a happy joyful life! It is one of my favorite U2 songs and I recently re-discovered it once Carlos (my friend from school) gave me a CD of their concert. I immediately put heard this song and it pulled straight on my heart strings.
Enjoy this! I hope you love it as much as I love it.
Will post lyrics because they are amazingly powerful.
I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name
I want to feel, sunlight on my face
See that dust cloud disappear without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Were still building
Then burning down love, burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you...
(its all I can do)
The cities a flood
And our love turns to rust
Were beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled into dust
Ill show you a place
High on ta desert plain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Still building
Then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
(its all I can do)

Green Day
So most people know that I am completely in love with the band Green Day. I am not a recent fan, I have been a fan since I started 7th grade. My best friend at the time (1999) gave me a mix CD and this CD contained about 4 Green day songs. It was love at first sound, I was hooked, I started buying their CD's from 1,039 smooth Slappy Hours to Warning.
I've seen Green Day 7 times and I cannot get enough of them, I recently saw them at the San Diego show and I will post pictures of them shortly.

In love with music....
So pretty much, AMAZING night! I went to the Derby Days event at the glasshouse and it turned out to be a fabulous show. I ad been wanting to see Venus Infers for so long, months, literally. So I saw this show which also had The Jakes which I saw at the Slidebar in fullerton and decided to give it a go. Top 5 of why I loved this show
#5: The venue was amazing, the glasshouse was a perfect place to see these bands.
#4:I was in the barricade! I was able to see everything from where I was.
#3: The Jakes were great as always and we got to meet them after their show, really sweet, simple guys.
#2: VENUS INFERS set was rich in entertainment, and talent.
and my #1..........
I got to meet and greet the band, got a shirt, got it signed, and got a few shots with them. They are absolutely gorgeous guys, they are just the sweetest people.
Their set included, The truth, Hit Parade, I've never been here before, and some things are better the way we remember.
Other bands included the ready aim fire which had a upbeat sound to them that reminded me of The Format.
Run Doris Run was okay in my opinion, they were not the best in the crowd but people seemed animated to hear them.
The After Midnight Project was great, they ended the night with a bang!
Overall the event was a unforgettable one.. Pics will be up soon!

Boomers Espresso Cafe
So I found out about this show because I went into Atlantic's myspace and I saw that they were playing. I soon told my friends to join me so they could hear what an amazing band they are. So I arrived a tad bit late because of a previous engagement, but once I got there the swift sounds of Atlantic were just hard to miss. I later found out that they had a cold, I swear you could not even hear it in their voice!
I totally missed Five o'clock people which I was excited to see, but maybe next time.
After Atlantic, Thena Dare came in and just amazed everyone in the room. She went on to saying how she had gone to the wrong Boomers in Upland, the audience laughed and nodded.
I wish I had my camera with me, there would have been some pictures.
Boomers Espresso Cafe was good, a little overpriced for coffee, but the ambiance was calm and pleasing.
Great night, short blog. Go check all of them out!

Slidebar 01/30/09
I heard about this show a while back, I really like Venus Infers and they are going to be playing a show with The Jakes on Feb 27. So I searched The Jakes and saw they were going to be at the Slidebar in Fullerton on Jan 30.
When I first arrived at the area there were so many bars around, it was filled with mostly college students from around the area. Finally we arrived at the Slidebar and it was a little confusing when one first walks in. When we arrived which was about 9pm the bands were barely setting up and so we proceeded to the bar area. The drinks were good, the theme of the bar was "music based rock theme."
The Jakes stole the night, along with FIASCO! My party and I would have stayed to see The Trade but we did not know that the event was a non re-entry so when we tried to go back inside they were trying to charge us ten bucks.
Definitley a great night, excited to see The Jakes on Feb 27th.
