In love with music....

Photo taken by: Sarah Buss

So pretty much, AMAZING night! I went to the Derby Days event at the glasshouse and it turned out to be a fabulous show. I ad been wanting to see Venus Infers for so long, months, literally. So I saw this show which also had The Jakes which I saw at the Slidebar in fullerton and decided to give it a go. Top 5 of why I loved this show
The Jakes
#5: The venue was amazing, the glasshouse was a perfect place to see these bands.
#4:I was in the barricade! I was able to see everything from where I was.
#3: The Jakes were great as always and we got to meet them after their show, really sweet, simple guys.
#2: VENUS INFERS set was rich in entertainment, and talent.
and my #1..........
I got to meet and greet the band, got a shirt, got it signed, and got a few shots with them. They are absolutely gorgeous guys, they are just the sweetest people.

Their set included, The truth, Hit Parade, I've never been here before, and some things are better the way we remember.

Other bands included the ready aim fire which had a upbeat sound to them that reminded me of The Format.

Run Doris Run was okay in my opinion, they were not the best in the crowd but people seemed animated to hear them.

The After Midnight Project was great, they ended the night with a bang!

Overall the event was a unforgettable one.. Pics will be up soon!

Boomers Espresso Cafe

So I found out about this show because I went into Atlantic's myspace and I saw that they were playing. I soon told my friends to join me so they could hear what an amazing band they are. So I arrived a tad bit late because of a previous engagement, but once I got there the swift sounds of Atlantic were just hard to miss. I later found out that they had a cold, I swear you could not even hear it in their voice!

I totally missed Five o'clock people which I was excited to see, but maybe next time.

After Atlantic, Thena Dare came in and just amazed everyone in the room. She went on to saying how she had gone to the wrong Boomers in Upland, the audience laughed and nodded.

I wish I had my camera with me, there would have been some pictures.

Boomers Espresso Cafe was good, a little overpriced for coffee, but the ambiance was calm and pleasing.

Great night, short blog. Go check all of them out!

Slidebar 01/30/09

I heard about this show a while back, I really like Venus Infers and they are going to be playing a show with The Jakes on Feb 27. So I searched The Jakes and saw they were going to be at the Slidebar in Fullerton on Jan 30.
When I first arrived at the area there were so many bars around, it was filled with mostly college students from around the area. Finally we arrived at the Slidebar and it was a little confusing when one first walks in. When we arrived which was about 9pm the bands were barely setting up and so we proceeded to the bar area. The drinks were good, the theme of the bar was "music based rock theme."
The Jakes stole the night, along with FIASCO! My party and I would have stayed to see The Trade but we did not know that the event was a non re-entry so when we tried to go back inside they were trying to charge us ten bucks.
Definitley a great night, excited to see The Jakes on Feb 27th.
